After throwing uke onto his back, you can stomp on his head or throat and then run away! This is excellent for the street! The pins and grappling (groundwork) is mainly for the ring in MMA! Sometimes, policemen can use this pins to restrain and arrrest a suspect.
According to Koichi Tohei sensei (10th Dan), he copied 30% of his techniques from O'sensei. The remaining 70% of Aikido techniques was modified by Tohei.
Correct spinal alignment is very important.
Sensei You are incredible good

Thank you very much Master! Student from Sydney, Australia.
People actually believe in this?
why do you fucking care? Are you the one paying money? XD
You pay money for this shit? Haha what an idiot.
I see Sensei's spiral begins from the hips. Great value video!
this really makes no sense to me at all
🤤
WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE A MILLION VIEWS??
Cuz too much talking at the beginning :P
Thank u so much
Watching again, Sensei. Excellent!!!
wow; finally an explanation i can understand.
excellent teacher.
Sensei, estou aprendendo muito com o senhor. Aiki-age, siki-sage são um presente! Sua simplicidade e alegria me encantam. Vejo incontáveis vezes os seus vídeos. Domo arigato!!!
counterfeit aikido
Awesome! "You're not moving away from something; you're moving towards something."
So in your first demonstration in this video, does your pinky along with your 4 fingers extend to their direction and your thumb goes inside?
Thank you Sensei !
@@yoshihitoshibata6671 does he do any throwd in his video
Every time i watch a video of Yoshihito Shibata never cease to amaze me. This video is another gem. Thank you.
That is "Okamoto's stick" or even, maybe, "Kodo's stick" before that
very good explaination from sensei
HE IS A GOOD TEACHER
I never get tired of watching this video, Sensei. Awesome!!
I too saw Magic moves years ago of his. wow
I think it is about purification and preparation mind, body. The kannushi (Shinto priest) usually perform the Purification by the water and fire in Japan People come for shiogori, a saltwater baptism to cleanse body and mind and the first act of one of Japan’s two great fire festivals. Thanks. bertt.
Still can't do it, Yoshi! I need more training with you.
Try that on a Tomiki or Shodokan aikido or judo player. They will look at you with a smile when it fails........ That's the trouble with non competitive aikido it's too collusive and falls apart when under real pressure....
Tony Wagstaffe It's not a matter of Ryu or school, it's a matter of physical mechanics, principles or laws of nature, it works with any kind of person. But if you think it doesn't works, why don't you go, and tell the sensei that you are skeptical and challenge him to do it in you? The essential is invissible to the eyes...
¿Excuse me? ¿ Non competitive. aikido? O-Sensei create Aikido for non competitive practice! If Tomiki Aikido do that, is because they don't understand the real spirit of Aikido. Competition= Ego. The goal of Aikido is the absence of ego. Open your mind and learn from others. Mushin, remember that.
Yoshi addresses this at the end, with the analogy about getting updated ipads. Against trained players the 'gears' would need refining also, and possibly paired with other techniques, involving atemi strikes, turning movements, etc.
thank u for cheering your knowledge ,it real amazing
Much respect, thank you for sharing
Rev. Barrish is one of my Favorite people on this planet. A spiritual guide, Teacher and amazing Martial Artist. If you get the chance to spend time with him at the Tsubaki Jinja in Granite Falls Washington don't pass it up! I wish life was so much longer to spend time with phenomenal people like him.
I use to train there myself. It's quite the experience and no other Aikido dojo like it anywhere in WA. Plus it was less expensive as well. Too bad I live so far away now.
I agree Tim. Even hearing his wonderful laugh brings back great memories.
This is a great in helping me understand Ikkyo better! I do want to refer back to this video later. Just an idea, can we put the "Ikkyo" somewhere in the title or the description? Thanks!
Excellent video!!!
Excellent video Sensei!!!
